Pascal Baurain was born on September 12, 1969, in Mons, Belgium. He pursued a career in law, becoming a member of the Mons Bar Association in 1998. Throughout his legal practice, he developed a reputation for his expertise in juvenile rights, insurance law, and commercial and civil leases. He was notably involved in representing the Logis Saint-Ghislainois, a social housing organization in Wallonia.

Baurain entered the political arena in 2006, motivated by a desire to serve his community in Saint-Ghislain. He served as an advisor for the Public Centre for Social Welfare (CPAS) from 2007 to 2011.
